Emergency services were called to the crash at about 14:15 BST at Piccadilly Plaza, which left four people injured, North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said. Piccadilly Gardens was closed to all traffic for several hours, with no buses or trams operating in the area. Piccadilly Gardens, Market Street and Shudehill stations tram stops were closed while the bus station was also shut. NWAS said three ambulance crews and a critical care team in an air ambulance treated four people at the scene, including one with suspected serious injuries. Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM), external had warned that the crash could have disrupted travel to the Peter Kay performance at the AO Arena. TFGM's Fran Wilkinson said bus and Metrolink services were "impacted throughout the afternoon and into the evening". A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said firefighters had used specialist cutting equipment to remove someone from the bus following the crash. TFGM said the tram and bus operators, KeolisAmey Metrolink and Stagecoach, were assisting with inquiries into the incident.
