Title: trainee drivers will be allowed to drive trains from age 18 Post by: infoman on May 07, 2025, 05:28:12 A very good idea although I think that new train drivers will not be allowed to drive trains on their own till they have passed all the exams.

The average age of a UK train driver is 48, with 30% set to reach retirement age by 2029, it said. Fewer than 9% of train drivers are female, while under 12% are from an ethnic minority.
