Title: Michael Portillo - live across the south and west - autumn 2026 and spring 2027 Post by: grahame on August 07, 2026, 16:31:10 https://www.fane.co.uk/michael-portillo (https://www.fane.co.uk/michael-portillo)
Quote Secretary of State. Traveller. TV superstar. The inimitable Michael Portillo joins us live on stage to share funny, insightful, and poignant stories from his extraordinarily rich and varied life. The son of a refugee who rose to become one of Britain’s leading politicians and best loved broadcasters, Michael Portillo’s life has been a game of two halves. As a statesman he served under Margaret Thatcher, ran for the leadership of the Conservative Party, and lost his seat in one of the most famous moments in British political history, only to become one of the nation’s favourite broadcasters, sparring with Diane Abbott and Andrew Neil and enthralling millions of us with his travels on the world’s greatest railways. First in the west (well, almost!) - Oxford, 29th October 2026. to Fareham, 16th March 2027. Via Truro, Malvern and Salisbury. Via Truro, Malvern and Salisbury. And at the University of Exeter Great Hall on Thursday 12th November for which SWTSMBO and I booked tickets some time ago. Very much looking forward to this. On the booking site it looks like around 65% of tickets have been sold with plenty remaining at £40 & £45.
