2  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Advanced booking horizon web page on: November 04, 2022, 11:37:23
I keep an eye on the GWR (Great Western Railway) advance bookings horizons page and I noticed it has not updated to 3rd Feb 2023 - but advance tickets are available on that date - I just bought one.

It looks to me whoever has to update this important page has not done it.

Cached page in browser ? just tried different device and browser, never used for GWR.

4  All across the Great Western territory / Active travel: Cyclists and walkers, including how the railways deal with them / Booking cycle on train Bristol to Paddington on: September 15, 2022, 17:51:29
Took 30 mins to get two references for a bike booking, by telephone.

Original advance ticket from TheTrainLine.

Is there a better way ?

GWR (Great Western Railway) site is confusing. Gives a reference, but also says unable to book. Then on phone they say have space.

I check the GWR (Great Western Railway) booking horizons page daily.

Is there any logic as to when the dates change?
6  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / GWR Booking Horizons on: March 04, 2020, 08:54:21
I have been booking my weekly midday commute 08:01 Bristol Parkway to Paddington up to 6 months in advance.

The booking horizons seems to have shrunk from 6 months to 10 weeks.

In fact it is still shrinking.

Anybody have any ideas of what GWR (Great Western Railway) are up to ?
7  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads Advance Single on: September 13, 2017, 19:22:29
Hello,
Thank you both for your very full  replies.
I travel up two days before on the Tuesday, but will check a return fare.
I am trying to find when the increase in trains is coming (from 2-4 ph ?)
14:00 is too early - but thanks for asking
No railcard - except f&F - and my 5 year old is at school !
I could try on social media to find a "group" - or even leaflet people on the train ?
I am going to try Bristol Parkway - a right pain - but is cheaper
I have framed my last £15 ticket

Of course it now means it is much cheaper for me to drive to work.

Thanks so much again for your time.
8  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads Advance Single on: September 12, 2017, 23:40:23
Travelling
From : Paddington
To: Bristol Temple Meads
Time: 15:30 / 16:00
Date : Thursdays
Single only
Book via GWR (Great Western Railway) site

I travel this journey weekly and for the last few years I have booked in advance and been able to get an Advance Single for the specified service 15:30 or 16:00 for £15 or so.

During the last 6 weeks I have not been able to catch any advance single fares.

I have tried the trainline
com who will email when the advance tickets are released, bit still no luck.

Am I missing something ?

Grateful for any advice.

Regards

Tim
