 I didn't get up there this year but for the previous two years I spent a week manning the Booking Office at Boat of Garten station. I stayed in Carrbridge at the Cairn Hotel which was a nice. Also did some photography of main line trains too.

Hello everyone,

Some of you may know me from the Signalling Forum, though I've not posted on that for quite a while. I'm a lifelong enthusiast, my maternal grandfather was a lifelong railwayman on the Worcester Division of the old GWR (Great Western Railway), later BR (British Rail(ways)) Western Region. He was a stationmaster at a number of stations there, latterly Malvern Link.

I work in the public sector, commuting from Chippenham to London 3 days a week. I have also volunteered on one or two heritage lines over the years including the Avon Valley Railway and the Strathspey Railway.
