Somewhat surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, given the signalling issues on the other route from Oxford to London

Thanks Graham, All working for me now. I was confused as I was sure that I had looked at that page before without problems.

Graham,
I am seeing some posts with just a white page, eg second page of the charlbury platform extensions is completely blank (white, no banner etc) but the index page is indicating that there are posts there.

Graham, Not received at my non-gmail but still valid email. Will investigate the spam folder tomorrow (not easily visible since a recent change of email server at work).

This morning only the two carriage turbo stopping service managed to run.....despite a GWR (Great Western Railway) staff member at Charlbury informing everyone who turned up for this train (as it was the only service running) that there were no trains before 10am....and that the screens and online app were wrong. Lots of people turned around and were halfway back up the hill when the train stopped at Charlbury.

Welcome to the forum YouKnowNothing.

Welcome indeed.   I'm wondering who is the "you" and what  unknown is - fascinating forum name, and I hope you'll stick around and help us learn something. Smiley

Perhaps this is the real Jon Snow?

Quote from Mark Hopwood in the latest CLPG» (Cotswold Line Promotion Group - about) newsletter:

""and I am happy to say that the 1622 service is now operating as an IET (Intercity Express Train - replacement for HSTs (manufactured by Hitachi in Kobe, Japan)) again"

Well if by operating they mean being regularly cancelled more often than running then this might be true!
8  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: March 09, 2018, 12:35:40
I don't believe that these new trains exist.  Wink

Since the beginning of January I have been using a fairly random selection of early-mid morning trains into oxford and evening/late evening trains back and haven't yet even seen one. If the train has even run, it has been formed of a HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) or turbo.
9  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: March 05, 2018, 07:20:01
And cancellations and delays this morning due to a faulty train.
10  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: March 04, 2018, 16:47:01
Unfortunately with no trains  towards Oxford the very limited buses are running to Hanborough, thence another bus to Oxford. Add in the weight restriction on the Charlbury bridge and buses are not a good option due to the long way around on minor roads.

Still no trains either way in Charlbury today (sunday) so three days now, luckily the roads are open.

A few years ago (2010?) when we had bad snow the train kept running while the roads were closed.

Since the new year I have been using Oxford Parkway much more frequently rather than walk to Charlbury station, cheaper, more parking, more frequent trains through the day and into the late evening. Last night was such a day and very glad that I did given the reported disruption to the last train back from Paddington.
13  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: February 13, 2018, 09:37:02
The return trip is the important one given it’s half term.  Hundreds more inconvenienced people to add to the list since the service collapsed from the new year onwards.

Agreed, this is the first off peak train in the morning towards London, so lots of families going to the big smoke for the day.

1722 Pad to Hereford (an HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))) also unusually stopped at Combe and Finstock. Not sure why as these are normally only served by the previous stopping service, Nb the HST didn't stop at the other small stations that are also served by the stopper.
