The nearest stations to your home are Tisbury, on a South West Trains line, 104 miles from the capital, and Westbury, with First Great Western, 105 miles away. Your cheapest standard class walk-up fare options, leaving on Friday evening and returning on Sunday, are:

Over three times the price to go one extra mile, because of FGW▸ (First Great Western)'s evening peak restrictions. Even if you hang around for about three hours to qualify for a saver ticket, it's still going to cost you 22% more for a journey that is just 1% longer.
