Whats the FGW30??

Are the silverlink sets in a bad state then, to the extent they need a refurb?  Seems stupid, as they are happy to have the coaching stock on the loco hauled set running about in non FGW (First Great Western) interior.

When will it receive a new livery then? Seems like the works were completely pointless if they are only going to do half a job?  Surely have been better to wait until they receive more units and do the full thing?

Is the 3+2 seating likely to remain after the full refurb at a later date?

How difficult would it be to reinstate a service to Minehead?  Roughly what extreme cost would it be, if the WSR were interested in joining up the network with the mainline again, to generate an income for their other projects?

A nice little dream which would never happen, but all I can say is that the bus to Minehead is always packed on the way from taunton station

I wonder how likely it is that some of the 180s will be aquired by XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)), in exchange for their HSTs (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))?

How many 180s are there that arent already with Grand central or Hull trains?  I understand that East coast are interested in swapping HSTs for their 180s too?

Perhaps not a bad idea, as it leaves two 180s operators, and an operator with a HST fleet.
5  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: Cross Country Destruction of service on: December 14, 2009, 22:59:23
Im shocked that they have been allowed to do this!

Will it perhaps only be for the winter time table and once the summer starts, they will reintroduce them all?

Or will they surrender their HSTs (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))?

6  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: X Country HSTs on: October 20, 2009, 00:02:55
I suspect that more services re going to be cut, and in turn a few double voyagers will offer the additional capacity?
7  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: X Country HSTs on: October 19, 2009, 23:33:15
I just dont see how they will get away with it, as they commited to adding additional seats to their services!

What will happen to their HSTs (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))?  Its crazy, as once they go to another operator, they will never get them back.

DO any diagrams currently run around as doublevoyagers?

Or are they simply reducing the overall number of train services?

8  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Taxi's when last connections are missed..... on: August 26, 2009, 23:10:55
I wonder how much all these taxis cost in the end?!
9  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Lone Travellers disadvantaged on: August 20, 2009, 10:44:13
Id love to know what people expect to find in a case of luggage!  How ob earth do yu know which bag to pick out of the 20.

Even worse, if you found your bag wasmissing as you went to get off of the train.... how would you deal with it, as the train manager would be nowhere to be seen before the train left the station.
10  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Bit of an over zealous CH tonight........and poor choice on: August 19, 2009, 23:09:56
Why couldnt you use it at the buffet?

I know Ive always used cards at the shop on XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise))?

Surely some sort of payment system could be set up for them to accept card payments?  Lets face it, shops used to take it years ago using the manual imprinters, so surely something modern could have come along by now?
11  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Bit of an over zealous CH tonight........and poor choice on: August 19, 2009, 19:09:14
I guess this is why XCs (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) trolley service is good....
12  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Lone Travellers disadvantaged on: August 19, 2009, 19:05:38
Do trains get a lot of luggage stolen from the luggage racks these days?
13  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Arriva 150s on: August 19, 2009, 18:50:31
Surely from the welsh assemblies point of view though., it would be seen as more cardiff services going through to other places, providing more oppertunities for travel to wales?
14  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Arriva 150s on: August 18, 2009, 22:25:23
But what I am saying is what if ATW (Arriva Trains Wales (former Train Operating Company)) decided that they could use their coaching stock that remains unused in storage, that isnt used on the Northwales loco hauled set, this would mean an addional amount of stock being used to deliver these taunton services meaning nobody loses out?
15  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Arriva 150s on: August 18, 2009, 21:22:42
But surely it makessence for atw to operate some taunton services, to providesome competition?
