News: A forum for passengers ... with input from rail professionals welcomed too
Absolutely gut wrenching to learn that the person who lost his life at Stoke Canon was a member of the railway family. Condolences with all those who knew him.
I found out earlier that the "Driver of 1C10" was a friend of mine! He told me it was an "electrical fire" on power car 43063. As said here, all passengers OK but understandably he was a little shocked and was sent back to Bristol.
Gathering reports from social media of a "small fire" or "smoke" in the driver's cab of the HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) that formed 1C10 1030 PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains)-WSM. Service was terminated at Southall.
Cancellations to services between London Paddington and Reading Owing to a person hit by a train between London Paddington and Reading all lines are blocked.
Understand the incident happened at/near West Ealing and sadly is a fatality.
As always, thoughts with the train crew/railway staff involved and those who knew the person involved.
Firstly, thoughts of course with the driver of the HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) and other on-board crew and station staff.
However I do wish the press wouldn't give publicity to these anti-TOC▸ (Train Operating Company) groups that are on Twitter when quoting people's Tweets (Jack Smith's in this case). I'm always very supportive of the work FGW▸ (First Great Western) do and I don't moan when there are delays, but it seems some passengers are very quick to find an outlet so they can have a pop at TOCs even when problems are beyond the control of the TOC.
