How do the train crew rosters work at Truro? Falmouth trains are regularly cancelled at short notice and main line trains held awaiting crew.
The replacement staff seem to come on trains that these days are regularly very late. Therefore delays are amplified.
On Saturday a two coach 175 that was packed with standing passengers because the previous two London trains had been cancelled from Penzance.
The 175 was then held for ages awaiting a late down train for a crew member to join it. Some passengers gave up and got off.
Seems a weird way to run a railway?

From next week the 32 bus Truro to Falmouth will run hourly daytime via Perranwell station and Ponsanooth.
The 32A will run hourly Truro to Falmouth via Devoran with last buses at 2245 from Falmouth and 2340 from Truro.
There is a large gap on school day afternoons from Truro though.
This should help out while the trains are unreliable.

I think they would have looked good if they had just put green vinyl over the red.

I remember going back to the days of the class 50 being ordered. They were leased to avoid the upfront costs. Nothing changes.

Big gap in trains from PNZ this afternoon. 1515 and 1552 cancelled and next train 1615 had to make extra stops.

I got on a Penzance train at Plymouth yesterday afternoon after a long delayed trip from Great Malvern. The train was so late the calling pattern was changed to Liskeard, Par, Truro, St.Erth and Penzance.
Intermediate passengers had to get off and get the 175 on a local service. They held the Newquay connection at Par. First time I had ever been through St. Austell at speed!!

Good riddance. Brilliant staff and a lousy company.

St.Erth is like that now. It takes ages for buses to pull off the A30 and back on via the traffic lights and road junction even worse in the summer.
Before the large station car park bus stops were on the A30 with a short walk for the few people that transferred to the train. Buses very rarely needed to stop.

I don't think either are designed for Newquay to Falmouth journeys but for intermediate trips. The bus and train serve different routes.
At the moment there are 5 buses an hour between Truro and Newquay via different routes with Go bus being the quickest.

Very backward step with no through buses from Falmouth and Penryn to the hospital at Treliske. The way First are going one can only hope they will pull out of Cornwall soon.

I live near Perranwell station with hourly train service to Falmouth and Truro. Also with a half hourly bus at the bottom of the road to Falmouth, Truro and Newquay and a two hourly bus to Helston and Coverack.

It said I could not do anything without a car!! So not impressed.

I have had my ticket checked on First Kernow bus, not often but it has happened.
