Looking at the wonderful NRE (National Rail Enquiries) website, FGW (First Great Western) services to CDF» (Cardiff - next trains) appear to "swap platforms" after 2pm: from P1 (the usual) to P2.

It isn't just FGW services either, a Southern SOU - VIC service is arriving into Cosham on P1 at 16:45ish when a FGW has just departed from Cosham at 16:39 on P2, which are both completely the wrong side.

Yet all these services are booked into the normal platforms at Fareham, suggesting they must crossover somewhere en route?!

Is there some engineering works going on?  I can only imagine the confusion that could be caused by services arriving/departing in the opposite direction to normal.

There's no cross over between Cosham and Fareham, but more importantly there are no bidirectional lines in the Cosham area, so I'd suggest it's definitely just an error.

They're all listed as platform 1 on the version of Live Departures I have.

When I was at Cosham about 3.5 hours ago, everything was running as normal.  As BNM says, they are now showing online correctly.  Must have been a little "blip" in the system which caused the error  Roll Eyes

The NRE (National Rail Enquiries) is "broken" again.  It seems to be correct for the next 6 or 7 hours, then everything after this is incorrect.  Nearly all services tomorrow have the wrong platform number.

Who would be the best person to contact with regards to having this corrected?

The same happens with Yate station where all Bristol bound trains call at platform 2. The occasional early morning train will be shown as calling at platform 1, something that can't happen. Sometimes those trains are "re-platformed" close to the departure time. May be this affects many other stations too?

Over a year since I posted this and I spotted this on the National Rail Enquiries website page about Cosham station
Quote
Platform information may be showing incorrectly for this station. Trains for Fareham / Southampton depart from Platform 1, and trains for Havant / Portsmouth depart from Platform 2.
Hardly an acceptable solution really.

I suggest the incorrect platform number has been input during the course of the Timetable preparation process.
