Would be interesting if everyone who was entitled did that! (claimed the vouchers I mean, not photographed them!)

That's around 20% not bad!  Does he still get a 5% discount on renewal as well, or are the vouchers instead of the discount.

Just imagine how much FGW (First Great Western) would've paid out to Thames Valley commuters if they had Delay Repay. You can see why they are resistant to it's introduction for the interim direct award franchise.

Although, to be fair, Void Days and Annual Discount are awarded automatically on renewal, Delay Repay requires Season Ticket holders to apply for compensation for every delay. That said, Delay Repay pays out whatever the reason, FGW's current Passenger Charter only covers delays within the industry's control.

On balance I think that Delay Repay is more generous to the passenger and is more costly to the operator.

What's making you think that they are resistant to Delay/Repay?

Personal correspondence with my MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context).
