I was on a Class 165 today, nowhere near Bourne End and the on board Passenger Information Display was telling me that I was on a non-stop service between Bourne End and London Paddington:

Chances are is the PIS (Passenger Information System) failed on a Bourne End to Pad service, probably near Pad somewhere, and nobody has noticed or raised it with driver to switch it off!

But there are no Bourne End to Paddington services that only call at Paddington!

Not only failed but deleted the intermediate stops.

Amused me anyway as I was leaving Didcot, next stop Appleford.

Looks to me like one of the quirks of the Turbo CIS (Customer Information System). It thinks it's between the last station before Paddington and Paddington on a Bourne End-Paddington service, where the displays would say it was Bourne End to Paddington service calling at Paddington. The screens quite often display the origin, destination and remaining stops. Displaying the origin does seem a little pointless.

That is exactly what would have happened.  Although a little better, the PIS (Passenger Information System) is still very unreliable.

It does in the morning after it has departed Slough it is fast  Roll Eyes Grin Roll Eyes or should I say non stop  Roll Eyes Grin Roll Eyes well not at stations to Padd so the PIS (Passenger Information System) changes to reflect the Bourne End start next station Padd

Yes I do like it when the train is described as either fast or non-stop to Paddington but is scheduled on the relief line and often catches up with a stopping service.. and ends up being neither fast nor non-stop.. It's ok though as it is actually timetabled to do just that so it is never late.. but never fast either  Roll Eyes
