I've been wrestling with this throughout the afternoon and need a fresh pair of eyes on it.

Journey from Teignmouth to Aldershot.

Out around 11:30 Thurs 3rd Jan. Back around noon on Saturday 5th.
With a 16-25 Railcard but need to avoid the 19 min walk between Ash Vale and North Camp.

Any ideas gratefully received.

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

without checking all the details, I would suggest Teignmouth - Exeter - Woking - Aldershot

Can you not change at Ash just cross the platforms I used to do it going to from Reading to Aldershot. But I see National Rail enquires does the walk if you do Aldershot Reading, but there's still a

11:38 from Aldershot to  Ash arrive 11:45
Also 12:08 getting to Ash at 12:15 but I wouldn't risk it.

Then 12:19 from Ash direct to Reading arrive 12:54

You've 34 minutes at Ash but without the walk. Presumably the fares the same.

The other way is via Ascot I thought the fare was the same as via Ash but that was the 80's and the fare system was much simpler.

Otherwise Guildford Havant Salisbury Exeter might take a long time but could probaly done on a series of quite cheap split Off peak returns.

Yes, that would be my answer but the 16-25 Railcard gives you a clue.  Teenagers and money....... Grin
