Alton line resignalling scheme
Over the past four months the lines between Alton and Brookwood and between Guildford and Ascot have been undergoing major re-signalling work. This work was due to be completed on Monday 26 August 2013.
Unfortunately, additional testing will be required between Alton and Farnham to ensure the safe running of the railway. As a result we will not be able to run any trains between Alton and Farnham on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 August 2013.
Replacement bus services will run between Farnham, Bentley Village and Alton. These buses are unable to access Bentley station so a minibus service will also run between Farnham and Bentley station. Timetables for these buses are being prepared and will be published here as soon as available.
Car park season tickets for Bentley and Alton will be valid at alternative South West Trains station car parks in the area including Winchester, Farnborough (Main), Haslemere and Farnham.
Existing rail tickets including season tickets held by customers who chose to use these alternative stations rather than Bentley or Alton will be honoured on South West Trains services.
The normal train service will run between London Waterloo and Farnham, and also between Guildford and Ascot via Aldershot.
