Lead item on Points West, 20th Feb 2023 discusses the state of bus services in the near to medium term. All a bit depressing: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001jh2t/points-west-evening-news-20022023

Also, as referred to elsewhere, metro Mayor Dan Norris gave a one-word answer to the question 'Will Bristol get an Underground': 'No'.

Interestingly they didn’t mention that, according to the map on the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Website, the mileage covered by buses in Swindon has increased.

Its a shame that WECA» (West of England Combined Authority - about) are showing that the 2 pound fare has been extended to june 2025(FIVE)

I'm reading that as government scheme till June 2023 and WECA» (West of England Combined Authority - about)'s own scheme till March 2025. Which is the first I've heard of WECA's own scheme. Nice if it's correct.

I saw a poster yesterday saying the new £2 single and £3.50 return fares are "supported by West of England metro mayor Dan Norris", which appears to confirm this. Though of course there are lots of ways of supporting something.

It also makes it clear the £3.50 is a return fare, not any sort of day capping, as I believe they have in some places eg London.
