Hello,

I have been reading on here for about a week and thought I would take the plunge. Not sure that many people do do this any more but I always used to when signing up to a new forum so greetings!

It had not occurred to me until thinking of it now that FGW (First Great Western) and trains in general have been quite a key player in my life...

Growing up in NW Wilts & Bath I would regularly get the train with family to visit places; Weymouth, Weston, London, Bristol. Later on I spent about four years travelling daily Chippenham to Bath before moving to Bristol. I spent three years visiting Durham monthly by train (not FGW but hey - trains!). Last year I commuted everyday from Montpelier to Cardiff and since April have been living in Melksham... and travelling to Temple Meads for work.

I am not an expert by any means, but I suppose I have a decent number of journeys under my belt - and the "character building experiences" that go with those! I look forward to reading/lurking on this forum more and learning a bit more about what is happening and why, hello once again  Smiley

[If that was too long, then: Hi, I use the train quite a bit. Nice to be here.]

Indeed a very warm welcome.

A lot of us were not experts when we joined, and I doubt many of us would claim to be now - but we do enjoy learning from others and contributing to the various debates which go on here by adding our little bit.

I'm sure you'll be playing your part along the way.

Welcome to the Coffee Shop. I will take this opportunity to confess that I don't like coffee, but it's still nice at this place Cheesy
