Reminds me somewhere I might still have a picture of a Britannia entering Arnside in 1967 with a pheasant on the buffer beam. Spent quite a lot of time chasing and riding behind the last steam that Summer.
I almost said I may have met you there, but now I recall correctly, I was there in 1966 (watched the cup final there, helps anchor the date) My uncle, with a little help from a new fisherman, got a couple of nice salmon that had found themselves stuck in pools as the tide went out. Pheasant would have gone down well too.
Wasn't there recently a train pulled into Gatwick Airport station with an unfortunate deer stuck to the outside, which caught fire when it caught on the third rail?
