http://www.somersetconsults.org.uk/consult.ti/Public_Transport_Cuts/consultationHome

I'm not a regular bus user so have only become aware that two buses, serving "my" stop, now arrive at exactly the same time.  Given that buses in Somerset are not frequent, this seems extraordinarily bad planning.  The services are the hourly 25 and the half-hourly 28, both operated by Buses of Somerset.  In the inbound direction, towards Taunton, they arrive at my stop after 10am at 39 minutes past the hour and into Taunton Bus Station at 51 minutes past, having followed the same route.  (The 28, being half-hourly, of course, has an extra journey.)  In the opposite direction, they leave within five minutes of one another.  Call me an old cynic, but is there some manipulation of timetables and revenue going on, such that two services will be shown not to be viable, and one will have to be withdrawn?

The link at the top leads to an ongoing consultation about Somerset's buses ending on 11 January, where it is proposed that all funding to the 25 service be removed, as well as some more minor changes to its timetable.

There is a reason for the saying "you wait an hour for a bus then two come at once" after all then!

The madness of current bus systems.

Modern Definition of a "miracle" ... if there are three buses an hour from A to B, they run at 20 minute intervals.

I'm glad that you share my view on the subject of buses.  Best wishes to you all for 25/12.
