Video of yesterday evening at Brighton station: https://twitter.com/timgreenway/status/729391770593861632

One of the problems with holding passengers on the concourse until closer to the departure time.

You can't beat the satisfaction of looking at Realtimetrains and taking a seat before the mad rush arrives!   Grin

I've noticed that Paddington generally seems to be a little calmer than some of the other London termini - Euston is one that always sticks in my mind as being particularly competitive to be first past the ticket barrier

I'd agree with that, but I'm not sure that any main station in the rush hour is a "popular" place to be........people are generally there through necessity, not choice!  Smiley

When I looked yesterday, platform 13 was a lot shorter - a lot shorter!

It looks like the link-up with platform 12 to make one long one for the new IEPs (Intercity Express Program / Project. This will offer more capacity on routes, save money, give a consistent and safe service and meet customer requirements. Intended to replace HSTs.) is about to come to fruition.

Yes that's right.  3-car length whilst the modifications take place.
