Death of the London Travelcard?

One of the Mayor for London's proposals to get TfL^» funding on a better footing is for TfL to withdraw from the Travelcard agreement with other operators.

It has recently appeared in documentation released on the Government website in the letter confirming their recent settlement agreement for funding from HMG. It is currently under an impact assessment review and whatever is confirmed will be put out to public consultation , which will include an Equalities Impact Assessment on or before May 27th.

If then confirmed, withdrawal on or before the financial year end 2022/23.

One would hope that they’re looking at the downsides of this potential move. I know people who live in zone 6 for example who travel in to zone 1 every day. They come in by train and then Tube/bus the rest of the way. On the flipside getting to say Clapham Junction from central London will require you to go to an Overground station to travel there with your travel card. I would also assume that this would be the end of the Annual Gold Card.

I assume you are talking about annual travelcards that are wholly within the London Zones.
I'm currently buying monthly tickets from Surrey to Waterloo but I think I am now ready to return to an annual ticket. My ticket is rail only as I do not need a bus or tube for my journey and I hope the Annual Gold Card continues. I currently have a Network card but there is a minimum fare of £13 midweek compared to no minimum for the Gold Card.
