Birmingham LiveFines for fare dodging on West Midlands Railway trains are to be massively increased from next month. Penalty fare charges in England are changing on January 23.
Charges for travelling without a valid ticket from that date will increase to £100 plus the price of the full single fare for the intended journey. It will be reduced to £50, plus the single fare price, if paid within 21 days.
Currently, the fine is £20 or twice the full single fare, whichever is the greater to the next station stop, plus the single fare applicable to the destination station if the journey is continued.
Sounds like it's nationwide??
