As far as I can see, its a non stop BTM^▸ (Bristol Temple Meads (strictly, it should be BRI) but BTM is a commonly used alternative)) to Swansea,

I think it will be the public fare price and not a reduced price.

Just in case any one wants a few hours in Swansea for shopping etc,

don't ask me what a football follower looks like,because I don't know.

The train being referred to is, I believe:

0844 BRI^» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) - 1026 SWA^» (Swansea - next trains)

Which is indeed non-stop. It's in the public timetable so normal fares should apply.

However, if you're going for a day out to Swansea then you'd probably be better off avoiding the footy fans and taking other trains. Doing this also means you can split your ticket at Cardiff and save around £6.

And, being pedantic, Bristol Temple Meads' official three letter code is BRI.

Football followers generally look just like you and me. Occasionally, their attire may offer clues.

We could of course look wider at the Belt and Road Initiative which as far as I can make out from officialese is about making corrodes sustainable.

You can sort of see why the CRS/NRS/RARS2 code for Bristol Temple Meads is BRI^» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains), not BTM^▸ (Bristol Temple Meads (strictly, it should be BRI) but BTM is a commonly used alternative)). A hand-written BTH^» (Bath Spa - next trains) (Bath Spa) could easily be confused for BTM, and BMT (Bedminster) is also a bit too similar. With these stations being close to each other, similar codes are more likely to cause confusion.

We should be grateful that the powers that be resisted the urge to call our newest local station 'Portway Parkway', especially given that many road signs for Bristol Parkway simply say 'Parkway' - which one? Portway Park and Ride is of course PRI, which to my mind is a bit too close to BRI... perhaps you just can't win around here?

The BRI is, as Western Pathfinder alludes, the main hospital in Bristol. For most Bristolians that's the only meaning of the initialism..
