Congratulations to the following ladies and gentlemen on their awards in the New Years Honour list.  There's a couple of names I know there, and a reminder for us all that there are so many unsung heros out there; good to see that some of them have been brought to the attention of the awards committee.

Stephanie HART, End User Compute Lead, Network Rail. For services to the Railway and to Children’s Education.

Anna Christina INCE, Chief Executive Officer, Resonate. For services to the Railway Industry.

Peter Robert JARDINE, Volunteer, Isle of Wight Steam Railway. For services to Heritage Railway.

Nicholas John MILLINGTON, Director, Safety Task Force, Network Rail. For services to the Railway and to the NHS during Covid-19.

Mark Stephen BRIDEL, Regional Freight Manager, Network Rail. For services to Charity and to the community in York, North Yorkshire.

Andrew Allan SCARFFE. For services to the preservation of Laxey and Lonan Heritage and the Isle of Man Railways.

Mark WILD, lately Chief Executive Officer, Crossrail Ltd. For services to Public Transport

Anthony John Christopher POULTER, Non-Executive Director, Department for Transport. For services to the Transport Industry.

Fiona Ann WHITE, lately Deputy Director, Train Strategy and Operations, Department for Transport. For Public Service.

Nigel William GOODBAND, lately Detective Sergeant, British Transport Police and Chair, British Transport Police Federation. For services to Policing.

Jennie Kristina MARTIN, Director General, ITS-UK (United Kingdom). For services to Transport Technology.

Richard Charles Barrington STEVENS, D.L., Managing Director, Go South West. For services to Transport and to the community in Plymouth, Devon.

Neil ATHERTON, Bus Driver, Arriva North West and Wales.  For services to Public Transport and to the community in Liverpool and Widnes during Covid-19.

Enyojo OPALUWA-PINHEIRO, Founder and Chair, Passenger Services BAME Network, Department for Transport. For services to Diversity and Inclusion.

Brian Vincent POWER, Detective Sergeant, British Transport Police.

Also congratulations to our (Lisa and I) friend Helen Clare BELCHER, Trustee, Trans Media Watch, Director, Transactual and Councillor, Wiltshire Council. For services to the Transgender Community. If I say "IT, Corsham Station, bus services" you will get the drift.

I have not yet met Helen Belcher but I, too, am delighted to read (belatedly, on my part Embarrassed ) here that she has been recognised for her services to the transgender community. Lips sealed

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

How the **** do you quote me back to 1975, Chris ... in those days I lived in Orpington, studied in London and worked in Whitehall 1 day a week and Sevenoarks 2 days a week.   For rail types, the stock was mostly 4EPBs with some of the lower unit numbers to Bullied coach design and the higher numbers were southern design, and heacodes on the Hastings units were things like 22 and 33 because the older units had metal stencil numbers that used and they only carried one of each digit.

Answering my own question .... I suspect you have cut the last digit off the date parameter when you quoted, making the quote be time just one tenth of the way from 1.1.1970 to when it was really written.
