The Bath Railway Society was founded at The Midland Hotel, Bath in 1957.  Since then we have continued to provide an excellent programme of talks on railway subjects for all those having an interest in railways; past, present and future.

Our meetings are held on a monthly basis throughout the year (except for July and August) and in addition to our regular meetings we hold occasional Society visits to sites of railway interest.  This is a tradition which goes back to Society outings on the former Somerset & Dorset Railway in 1959.

Our membership is a diverse group (in terms of age and gender) and you will be made most welcome in joining us either as a new member or visitor.  To join just come to a meeting and see our Treasurer!
Annual membership subscription - £22.00
(If joining after 1st January - £12.00)
Visitors - £5.00 per meeting

Bath Railway Society meets at The Museum of Bath at Work, 318-348 Julian Road, Bath.  Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month  from September through to June, commencing prompt at 7.30pm (doors open from 7pm). Non-members are always welcome.

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
