Gateway To The Future (click on http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=357.msg1034#msg1034) lists as one of its proposals Yate - Weston - super - Mare capacity enhancement.

So what would this entail?

The elements of the scheme are listed below :

- Turnback facility at Yate.

- Reinstate the east curve of Westerleigh Junction.

- Provision of two extra platforms at Bristol Parkway and a Stoke Gifford West avoiding loop.

- Extension of four-track railway between Filton Abbey Wood - Bristol Temple Meads.

- Resignalling , provision of more lines and reinstate bay platform 2 & extend platform 13 at Bristol Temple Meads.

- Upgrade Worle Junction from single lead to double lead junction and part redoubling of the branch towards Weston Milton.

- Reinstate the bay platform at Weston - super - Mare.
