Er....sort of agree. Apostrophes can be a minefield. I suppose you could argue that the apostrophe is replacing missing letters like in don't and should've. But when it comes to 's things get a bit more complicated.....

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

If you always used an apostrophe to signify missing letters, then typo would be typo', except that it isn't as that would be silly.

Since typo is the abbreviation for typographical errors, the plural is clearly typos. (Of course, if typo was a word in its own right the plural would be typoes; fortunately, it isn't Wink).

Had your typographical error possessed something, that would be a different matter...

(ps. You could have saved yourself some bother by using 'mistake' Grin)

I thought I'd covered that aspect by describing it as 'an official FGW▸ (First Great Western) poster'?  Roll Eyes Shocked

However, would you also care to discuss their use of the phrase, "... we will regularly check the cycle racks ..." ?
