From the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page):

The 122 people, many of them strangers, hugged each other at St Pancras station to mark Guinness World Records Day.

A Guinness spokesman confirmed the record and said: "People were a little bit nervous but at the last minute everyone sprung into action."

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Were there any 'hoodies' amongst the 122 people? If so, "(call me) Dave" would no doubt be happy.  Grin

In a moment of idle speculation, I wondered about the (admittedly rather remote) chances of me being there at St Pancras station, and Lance Corporal K Hodge happening to be standing next to me at the relevant time ...  Roll Eyes Embarrassed Grin

Well, Chris, we all have our dreams, but may I suggest sticking to all things 'trains'. Believe it or not there are some of the fairer sex who actually find ferroequinology attractive..... Grin
