Looks as if FGW (First Great Western) have finally got the New May 2010 Timetables on their website, I had a look at the retimed 1836 Paddington to Bourne End and saw it's a 5 car formation, which of cause means very high passenger volumes to Slough and Maidenhead, only thing I can image with this is every one pressing against one another for a gasp of air. However the problem becomes very much worse if it's 3 or 2 car with a predicted 60% of passengers who are unable to board, or who decide to travel on the roof being thrown side to side. I can image all the soar heads and sick passengers who wish that they could get a superjet home. Anyway back to reality what FGW should have done is add an additional stop on the 1833 service from Paddington to Paignton first stop at Maidenhead at 1852, instead of destroying one fast peak service for a very busy town. Shame on FGW, I hope Maidenhead commuters get the fast stop back even if the 1833 does stop at Maidenhead, otherwise FGW can expect some really unwelcome letters.

On the plus side, Bedywn gets an additional call on the 1833 Paddington - Exeter St Davids.

I was under the impression that FGW were calling the 1848 Paddington - Cheltenham Spa at Maidenhead additionally?

Ah I suppose ones loss is another ones gain, however it appears the 1848 calls at Twyford with 1947 calling at Maidenhead. It would have been a complete surprise and good news if Maidenhead were to recieve the 1848 service from London Paddington, although it would have caused a big gap for Twyford as well as Henley branch of between 45 - 50 minutes during the evening peak period. I hope Bedwyn passengers make good use of 1833 service otherwise we would kindly take it, just think of all those happy Thames Valley commuters Grin

They do seem to mention the additional 19.47 stopping at Maidenhead a lot when they have to talk about the 18.33 being removed.. As if it would help all the people from that train out or something being more than an hour later Huh Angry  Wink
