Trying to book four people on a Groupsave on Monday 2nd from Bracknell to Taunton. (07:12 from Bracknell) FGW (First Great Western) has the option for Groupsave but will not give me a fare for that train (with or without a Groupsave.).   Meanwhile East Coast will give me a fare but no Groupsave. Anyone know of an online booking engine which offers both?

^24.50 advance single is fare offered on their app. You don't specify when you'recoming back. If same day, Groupsave may not be available. There are blackout days for sporting etc events that many wish to attend.

Guilty of not explaining myself properly - not for the first time.

Coming back the same day.

The problem I have found is that the FGW (First Great Western) website offers Groupsave when you look to add railcards and that seems to be before a chosen journey is validated but it doesn't offer any fares for my outward journey as part of a return fare. Meanwhile East Coast/Southern offer a fare for that journey but don't offer Groupsave among the discounts.

I take your point about Groupsave not being available on all journeys but it seems there isn't even the option available for any journey.  I also think the booking engines usually just ignore options that are not valid - like choosing a network card for a journey outside its area.

Groupsave is only available with off peak tickets not advance, so the best you going to do is with SSR currently ^48.00 So that's ^96.00 for 4 of you. (Bear in mind the fares go up on Monday so it will be a bit more.)
It can be used on any FGW (First Great Western) service on Monday as there's no time restrictions as it's a Bank Holiday.

But that is my point. FGW (First Great Western)/Trainline aren't offering the SSR fare for the 07:12 from Bracknell (07:57 from Reading). East Coast etc offer a fare but no Groupsave option.

I would say the database hasn't been programmed properly, looks like you'll have to buy on the day.

Thanks for all the advice. Managed to get the Groupsave fare on a SSR at the local station.  However had to phone FGW (First Great Western) Customer Services to get the seat reservations.
