From the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page), 30 Minute video from Scottish Minister Keith Brown

Consists of 10 minutes speak, 20 minutes questions. Seems this chap really has his head screwed on.

Some of what he says is common sense. Seems very good ideas but I think pie in the sky. Why cannot our Transport Secretary take a leaf out of this guys book?

That link is malformed. This one works, but it's a year old (edit - I think the BBC have put the wrong date on it)- is this the story you meant TT?

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
