Hi. My first posting here and in case there is a separate section I apologize but I did do a search first!

I'm one of the masses having to change my travel habits due to there being no trains from Totnes until the track at Dawlish is repaired. A few of us that normally use Totnes are parking at Tiverton Parkway. Last Thursday a friend came back to her car in the overflow car park to find that the catalytic converter had been stolen; she has a small 4x4 and these along with pick ups are easy targets and the job can be done in 2 mins.

So, if you have a similar car then watch where you park as the car will need recovering and taken to a garage, where it will sit until the part arrives

Welcome to the forum, Nick ... I'm sorry about the circumstances  Undecided   ... "Across the West" seems good in that it could relate to just about any station.  I have changed the subject on my reply, as it came through as AN ALL CAPS SHOUT, not actually needed here as our titling system emphasises anyway.

Ouch ... that's probably the new car park that was rushed in / constructed in a few days where it would normally have taken a few months to even get permission.  Perhaps security / CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele-Vision) has lagged a bit behind in the build?  In some way, we have to be in two minds here about publicising these issues, as both passengers (who you way to warn) and others with less positive motives can both read it - however, by raising this here you may also find it read (if not acknowledged) by those responsible for various systems who need to know.

Have you reported it to First Great Western directly?   I suggest you do, to log the issue.   Have you reported it to the British Transport Police?   You may take those as rhetorical questions if you wish ... I'm just suggesting that it may be a good idea if you haven't.

And - thank you - for the alert.
