Never seen this before ... at about 13:20 day, a convoy of 8 class 66 locomotives arrived in Westbury from the Trowbridge direction.  Only the front one appeared to be under power.   Pause briefly in the up bypass line / didn't see where they continued to as I had a Swindon service to join.   Real Time Trains tells me nowt!

This arrived at Westbury Down TC (Train Crew, or Travelling Chef, depending on context) at 1323 and departed at 1517

How on earth did I miss that?   Perhaps because they arrived an hour early?

Interesting move - Margam to Easteigh ...

I found it for you by searching Trowbridge. It reported at Trowbridge so fell into correct order for actual pass, it didn't report at Westbury for some reason.

One is bad luck, two is coincidence and three could be vandalism, but to have seven break down at once... !!!!!!!

15 spare cabs ... 2 seats in each ... obviously trialling their new passenger service.

Sadly, I suspect locos no longer required for steel / coal traffic going into storage.  Now - with a few mark 3s ...

I'm sure I read somewhere that DB» (Deutsche Bahn - German State Railway - about) Schenker were looking to get rid of as many as 50 Class 66 locomotives
