166205 should be used tonight on gauging test runs on the Avon Valley and Melksham routes. Look on Real Time Trains for a 5Z44 headcode tonight (Melksham 22:36 - 22:43) and a 5Z45 headcode in the early hours of tomorrow morning (Melksham 01:30 - 01:34).

I think I'll give it a miss - been up since 05:30. But then if I get up earlier (at 01:00 tomorrow) I guess I could.   Thanks for letting me know ... If still awake I just might!   Saw some photos of them gauging an 800 today, so some pictures (if the station lights are working) of them doing that with a Turbo at Melksham ...

Electrification at Melksham Station is still a work in progress, then.  Tongue Roll Eyes Shocked

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

I fell asleep ... woken about 45 minutes ago, so missed the chance of a picture  Angry

The lighting problem at Melksham appears fixed. For those new to the issue, the station was in the dark at night for weeks and getting frustrated by lack of action to get it fixed.   Late data from the train operator has informed me that the problem was being reported by train crews on a regular basis, site visit made to fix, site left lit, but something happened to cause them to trip out again ... apparently the GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) team were as frustrated as we were ...

 Is that where the trains lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo when they enter/ leave the station ?.

If Network Rail put yodelling, instead of beeps or two tone sirens on all their level crossings, would it be enough to keep people off the tracks ?
