Our next public meeting will be at 7:00pm on Tuesday 11th September 2018 at the Civic Centre in Warminster. Our speaker will be Matt Barnes, GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) Regional Development Manager, who will be giving a talk entitled 'GWR to a New Franchise'.

The group is now under new management! - do please come along to hear GWR's plans and ask questions. Further details on our website www.wwrug.org.uk

Unfortunately, due to work commitments, I won't be able to attend, but may I encourage anyone here who is free on that day to do so?

Opportunities for questions to be asked at senior level with GWR▸ (Great Western Railway), apparently.  Wink

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Many thanks for posting, Dickyc.  Matt is one of the GWR team very well informed (as you would expect from his job title) on where GWR are headed - especially in the western part of the franchise area - and this is an excellent opportunity to be updated.
