The next Melksham Railway User Group meeting will be held on Wednesday 22nd January 2020  (19:30) at  Melksham United Reformed Church hall (new location used for the November meeting, see below). To ensure we have sufficient seats, please could you advise me whether you are coming to info@mrug.org.uk.

This meeting will include a presentation by Guy Watts of GWR (Great Western Railway) on fares. If you have any specific questions, it would help if you could give advance notice of them to info@mrug.org.uk. We have also been looking at Melksham town bus services and if time permits this may also be covered

Guy's fare presentation now online on the MRUG» (Melksham Rail User Group - site) web site via resources page

Ticket Types explained

Where does the money go?
- see http://www.passenger.chat/22807 (pie chart from the data)

Melksham RUG» (Rail User Group - about) Q&A
- railcard options
- super off peak bought, but coming back off peak - can I upgrade my ticket?
- what is split ticketing, and how will "Willams" change ticketing?
- why do on line booking tell me to change at Swindon when Chippenham is much easier?
- how is smart ticketing progressing?
- Can you tell us about some bargain days out and staycations from Melksham

The overall length of the journey is a decider as the planners will always try & ptovide the quickest journey. Somewhat surprised this wasn't mentioned as part of his response.
