(First post-lockdown trip was Willington to Sutton Parkway, in order to collect a new car from availablecar dot com.  So nothing worth noting - except a late departure from Nottingham of the Worksop train, due to the failure of repeated attempts to join the 156 to a 153 in the platform.  And even then, when we set off with all 3 cars attached, the emergency brake came on about 10 metres later.  So the 153 got left behind.)

Doing nothing by halves: the purpose of this trip is to assist my nephew with his Oxford - Dundee journey where he starts his Masters course at Abertay University.  So my journey is:

Derby to Mordor Central. (aka Birmingham New Street)
Mordor Central to Oxford - meet nephew.
Oxford to Paddington
Kings Cross to Edinburgh, just happens to be the 1030 departure.
Edinburgh to Dundee. Assist nephew in settling in, buy him his last proper meal dinner
Dundee to Perth.
Caledonian Sleeper from Perth to Euston.
St Pancras to Derby.

A round trip of about 30 hours.

Anyone offering odds on catching
1) each train as planned
or
2) Coronavirus?

I wish you a good journey.   The Coffee Shop does not have a bookmaker's license and cannot offer you odds, but sufficient precautions are in place to help ensure your rail travel is safe.  The chance of some connection missing is much higher, but you'll probably find odds not being offered because element of that are under your control if you use defensive scheduling.

Enjoy!   Please post your experiences as travels such as these are thin at present and more in the realm of dreams than reality for most of us.
