Overturned bus in Wembdon

A double decker bus has overturned on ice this morning causing Quantock Road (A39) to be blocked in both directions. Police are saying the route affected is from the Shell Garage up to the roundabout on the road.

Traffic reporting system Inrix says traffic is affected on the B3339 between Sandford Hill (Wembson) and Quantock Meadow (Bridgwater).

Police predict the incident will be ongoing for around four hours.

Police Advice:
Quote
Following an increased number of road-related incidents overnight, we are advising people to only travel if essential.

We received more than 100 reports in 5 hours as a result of 'treacherous conditions' from freezing temperatures and water on the road
.

Sounds dramatic.   Hoping there are no casualties and people are just shaken.

Very, very cold out last night and this morning; -5C when I was out even within our town before 6.

Incident at around 6am, so quite possibly. At least at that hour, it shouldn’t involve schoolkids.

Various sources now reporting a motircycle was invloved.

Yes, major incident.
Confirmed workers enroute to Hinkley C.

Many drivers from across the UK (United Kingdom) driving this route for Hinkley C.
Hope it isn't too bad.
