(Not directly in the GWR (Great Western Railway) region)
Cancellations to services at Southampton Central
Due to a fault with the signalling system at Southampton Central all lines are closed.
Train services running through this station will be cancelled. Disruption is expected until 10:30 23/06.
Customer Advice
Due to a problem with signal equipment, no trains can currently serve Southampton Central.

Trains running between Portsmouth Harbour and Cardiff Central will divert, calling instead at Eastleigh.

We are currently sourcing road transport to shuttle customers between Eastleigh station and Southampton Central, and will update once this is in place.

Major failure affecting Brockenhurst to Eastleigh and from Southampton to Fareham
Quote
Due to a signalling problem between Brockenhurst and Eastleigh all lines are blocked, seemingly for the rest of the day.
What's Going On:
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
What We're Doing About It:
We have been informed of a signalling problem between Brockenhurst and Eastleigh. This means that all lines are blocked between these stations.
We are currently unable to operate a service between Brockenhurst and Eastleigh in both directions.
We are also currently unable to operate a service between Fareham and Southampton Central.
Passengers travelling between Brockenhurst and Eastleigh, and between Fareham and Southampton Central are advised to NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL between these stations.

I saw advice this morning stating that passengers could vail themselves of a taxi from Eastleigh to their destination  - so anywhere towards Bournemouth.

Update on X/Twitter from Network Rail
. It explains the source of the failure.

Quote
UPDATE: Work to bring the signalling back online between Eastleigh and Brockenhurst continues. We hope to get the system restored tonight, but the knock-on impact means @SW_Help is advising against non-essential travel on the route tomorrow
After upgrades to the signalling control systems at Eastleigh Area Signalling Centre overnight, we experienced a power surge which meant that damaged components needed replaced, the signalling control system rebooted and all the specialist signalling software reinstalled.

That work has taken longer than expected and we haven't been able to restore signalling as quickly as wanted.
Adding
Signalling restored just before 23.00 hrs

My partner was one of about 10 people wanting to take bikes down to Portsmouth from Bath yesterday on the train, to catch an overnight ferry to France. They had planned on using separate services to space the bikes out. So waking up to this problem made the day quite stressful.

AFAIK ('as far as I know') they did all make it though.

A couple of days later, services disrupted again at Southampton - this time a cable fire on the line in the New Forest, and not affecting GWR (Great Western Railway) services. See http://www.passenger.chat/28844
