The first arrival of the late train (now 22:30) from Swindon for nearly 17 years - a feeling of completeness and a great feeling of achievement.

A very low key evening - timetables changed a week ago, but this service change was delayed a week because of engineering works. So really lovely to see, on a Monday evening (and a bank holiday one) with no fanfare our first three late passengers arriving.

Early days - but I was on the 21:16 Westbury to Swindon last night. Thirteen passengers on the train when we left Trowbridge, 3 off and 2 more on at Melksham - 15/5.  In less than a month, on a mid-week night during term time, a good start; I am reminded of just how long even the DfT» (Department for Transport - about) allows for a service to bed in from previous experience.  Train Manager reports it's very much busier on the return leg (22:30 from Swindon) which is what I would have anticipated.  Also got the feeling that some of the clientele are very wise to be using the train rather than driving themselves.
