Big "Thank you" to Chris from Nailsea who has co-ordinated questions and forwarded them to the team at GWR (Great Western Railway) so they are aware ahead of time of the questions we will be "seeding" on Thursday.

We will be running the session as previously with questions and answers appearing on this "Meet the Manager" board every ten minutes with initial written answers, but additionally we will be live for live follow ups as well as follow ups online.  A big THANK YOU to GWR for offering us this opportunity ...

Graham Ellis is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Topic: "Meet the Manager" with Daryn McCombe of GWR
Time: Oct 3, 2024 14:30 London

Will there be an upper limit to the number of members attending on Zoom after which the remainder can only follow the meeting session via the Coffee Shop?  I hope that the question makes sense! Huh

Yes, but the upper limit is several times even our most optimistic estimates.  Although this is the first time we have used Zoom for our "Meet the Manager", there will be several members who have looked after the online element of such meetings before.

There will be several of us there as "co-hosts" who are experienced at running Zoom sessions where such things very occasionally crop up. We have worked as a team before and dealt with such circumstances, and the duty to watch is clearly assigned.  If the session gets busy, please do flag up any such concerns to the host and THANK YOU, but please bear in mind that (s)he will be busy dealing with the rogue issue and may not come back to acknowledge until the issue has been dealt with.

Do you have something you would like to add to this thread, or would you like to raise a new question at the Coffee Shop? Please [register] (it is free) if you have not done so before, or login (at the top of this page) if you already have an account - we would love to read what you have to say!

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
