Hi All,

After posting a couple of questions I thought I better say hello.

I do not work for the Railways

I commute by Train with ATW (Arriva Trains Wales (former Train Operating Company)) from Cardiff to Ponty and travel FGW (First Great Western) about

twice a month on Business and pleasure

ATW have improved over the last year and half but occasionally  things go wrong.

Would like to travel more often at weekends to London but I know that engineering

work is essential and necessary but there never appears to be low advance fares

even though the journey takes longer.

Travelled many different routes in this country and my favorite is Manchester

to York. London to Newcastle old GNER (Great North Eastern Railways)

Have travelled extensively in Europe and Africa my favorite trips were

Berlin to Warsaw  great train old corridor carriages flat country

Berlin to Dresden to Prague great scenery

Budapest to Prague great food and wine

Cannes to Lyon to Geneva again great Trains great scenery

Milan to Brig expensive water great trip

Milan to Rome what a way to arrive

Bucherest to Brasov old trains great scenery

Sousse to Tunis return well it was Africa but great transport links at Tunis

Loved all these trips great trains excellent food and drink and once you travelled

from Berlin HBF then you know what a station should be like.

Why cant we have a central train station like that.

Great forum will make a comment if I can answer

Thanks

Basset

Hey Basset, welcome to the forum! Those European trips sound great, I must try them one day Smiley
