Is it me, or have the times of some of the trains on the Cotswold line changed every so slightly but I can't remember seeing any notification anywhere.

Last week I noticed the 1822 Paddington to Kingham was advertised on the platform as 1821.  And this morning, the 623 from Kingham to Padd now leaves at 620.  I wouldn't mind, but we still had to wait at Charlbury as per usual due to the single line, and the train isn't advertised to get into Paddington any quicker.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks a confused from Bourton.

I'm afraid I've no useful information to impart about this, I just wanted to thank you for flagging this up!  If I hadn't seen the post above, I'd have arrived just in time for the 0623 on Wednesday & quite possibly missed the now slightly earlier train.

True to form, yesterday's train then waited at Charlbury for the single line again.  No wait at Charlbury this morning, but that's because it was already 7 minutes late when it left Kingham  Roll Eyes

I thought the timings had moved back to normal again (0633 off Charlbury) - which makes sense because it always has to wait for the train in the opposite direction coming off the single line.

The retiming to 06:20 from Kingham was entered as an alteration to the WTT (Working Time-Table) (of 1P07 04:47 Hereford to Paddington) for this week from Tuesday (18/12-21/12/18) on 27/10/18 (the same date as all the variations for the Christmas period). It was deleted and replaced on 19/12/18 by another altered alteration for 18/12-21/12/18, timed 06:33 ex Kingham. That in turn was deleted and replaced by another one today 20/12/18, still timed at 06:33 ex Kingham and still valid until tomorrow (currently). These variations presumably do differ in some other respects; I've not looked to see.

The screens at Kingham yesterday & today still seemed to think it should be 06:20.  Luckily, I don't need to catch it tomorrow!  I'll be very glad if it reverts to 06:23 - three minutes more in bed is important to me at that time in the morning, and much to be preferred to spending an extra three minutes sitting at Charlbury waiting for the line to clear.

Not quite so subtle - the 08:44 on Sunday morning from Melksham to Swindon (09:12) has moved to 08:36 getting there at 09:04.  Personally and for the traffic , earlier is better - but pity the poor person who arrive at the station 5 minutes before (s)he thought it was due.

The train now starts back at Warminster - which was our request this time last year - at 08:11.  Prior to that, the first northbound train was at 10:49.   I'm surpassed at the change at this point though, as the new (early 2018) train at 08:47 from Warminster - into Bristol - was frustrating to people who wanted to go to / via Swindon, but has started to build a Bath / Bristol market which may now be less that thrilled about a 30 minute earlier start and change of trains to arrive in Bristol at the time they've got used to during 2018.

I thought I’d resurrect this old thread to report that the 08:18 WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains)-PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) is going from a 5-car to a 9-car from the timetable change.

It’s a very popular train that is currently always full and standing from Oxford, sometimes very overcrowded, so great news.
