From Rail Magazines Facebook page

Quote
Up to three locomotive-hauled trains will enter traffic with Great Western Railway (GWR (Great Western Railway)) next May, running between Cardiff and Taunton.
They will be used to replace Class 150 and ‘153’ diesel multiple units that are being sent north for use by Northern in time for the May timetable.
An Invitation to Tender (ITT (Invitation to Tender)) has been issued. The locomotive-hauled coaching stock (LHCS (Locomotive Hauled Coaching Stock)) must be formed of up to four carriages, and the ITT specifies that they will run between May and December 2017, but that there could be a change in October. There is the possibility that the trains could run for more than that seven month period

Mods feel free to move but I guessed it would serve Bristol commuters predominantly.

Yes  I suspect it will be the same two diagrams as last time as these do  cover the busiest section of the route between Cardiff & Bristol TM (Train Manager, or Ticket Machine, or Temple Meads (Bristol), depending on context) during the peaks.

Lots of options  including  Class 67's top & tailing a class 442 especially as db will be looking for work for their 67 fleet.

Yes, it will serve Nailsea & Backwell commuters to Bristol (and elsewhere) admirably.  Tongue Roll Eyes Grin

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
