Old style buffet car, new style seating carriage ... a common site for the next few weeks, I suspect.

During the week, those of us who happen to get a first class bargain fare are served coffee and snack at seat included in the ticket price (and I have to admit I very much like that!) and at the weekend we can request that service at the buffet counter.

What is going to happen when there is no buffet car at the weekend?  Will be have to search the whole train for the catering trolley?

Or will you have to wait until it reaches you? If it can get to first class.

I presume there will be a First and Standard trolley all week long.

I know which coach I would have been in there Wink

not at the weekend there wont be. on the weekend you have 1 TM (Train Manager, or Ticket Machine, or Temple Meads (Bristol), depending on context) and 1 Customer Host who at present serves both STD and 1st Class ticket holders from the buffet.

When the buffet goes they will be in the train (both classes) with a trolley.

There wont be one trolley for 1st and one trolley for STD.

You can draw your own inferences from that.
