From December 2007 , Melksham will be served on Sundays by 1 service in one direction and 2 services in the other direction.

However , there are 2 stations on the FGW (First Great Western) network that are currently served by 1 FGW service in one direction and 2 FGW services in the other direction in the Saturday timetable. Can you name them?

I will give you a clue - one of the stations is also served by another train operating company , but the other station isnt.

The one served by other TOCs (Train Operating Company) would be Eastleigh......

Nope , no FGW (First Great Western) services are currently scheduled to call at Eastleigh on Saturdays.

Clue number 2 :

My quizmaster (and future wife) would like to make it known that there are actually 5 stations that fulfill this criteria. 3 of them can be found in the timetable that she failed to check.......

This set the office trainspotters a challenge. Two suggestions were St Budeaux Ferry Road and Wanborough. Then I wondered if the stations from Havant to Brighton qualified.

 Huh

Congratulations , BandHcommuter , St Budeaux Ferry Road and Wanborough are 2 of the correct answers. The stations from Havant to Brighton dont qualify because they are served by 2 FGW (First Great Western) services in each direction on Saturdays.

Has anyone spotted the other 3 stations that do qualify?

I am sure you are , grahame , I couldnt possibly comment...... (quote below) :

Llanelli, Pembrey and Burry Port & Carmarthen only have 1 FGW (First Great Western) service per day (in each direction)

They get 2 FGW services towards Carmarthen , but only 1 FGW service towards Swansea & beyond on Saturdays , which means that Shazz has guessed the final 3 stations correctly.

Coombe gets 2 services in each direction on Saturdays.

Or could it be said that it gets 4 arrivals and departures all in the same direction.    Hang on. I could end up starting another "use of English" discussion.
