Do you recognise this man? BTP appeal for information after member of rail staff suffers abuse ^ Truro
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident on board a train approaching Truro railway station.
Officers have today released CCTV▸ images of a man they believe will have information which can assist their investigation into the incident which took place on Monday, 19 March 2012.
Investigating officer, PC Bob Edwards, said: ^The female ticket examiner on board the 10am Penzance to London Paddington service was checking tickets when she encountered a male passenger who did not have a ticket and refused to pay for one. The passenger repeatedly swore at the ticket examiner and continually changed his story when asked where he had boarded the train and where he was intending to travel to.
^Although unharmed, the member of staff said she feared for her safety due the aggression shown by the passenger who alighted from the train at Truro station. Behaviour such as this is completely unacceptable. Members of staff have the right to go about their duties without being subjected to abusive behaviour. Enquiries are ongoing to trace the man responsible and, after reviewing CCTV images from Truro station, I would now like to identify and speak to the man in these photographs.^
The man police would like to speak to is described as being white, aged about 30, of medium build with a pale complexion and short, fair hair. He was clean shaven and wore a waist-length waterproof-style jacket.
