Indeed.  The hoardings have now been replaced with temporary barriers and a big poster saying the same thing.

Huzzah!  I shall have a proper look at it when I get back to Bristol.... hopefully tomorrow.

I am intrigued how much use it will get and how much increased footfall there will be going the opposite way to normal at the station

Out of interest does anyone know what the hours this entrance will be open?

The estimate was 2m people p/a - so 20% of station users-ish

Apart from the new University building, there are a couple of big new student housing developments, there will be a new school in operation from September 2027 and as discussed elsewhere, the number 8 bus will have a new stand at the eastern edge of the station.

Just walked through the subway at Temple Meads.
The new entrance was being inspected by a party including Mark Hopwood.
When I walked back a few minutes later the poster about the opening had been removed not sure why and I had a train to catch so no time for further investigation.

Possibly because that huge poster was a trip hazard in the concourse?

I'm rather inclined to pop along to Bristol Temple Meads next Monday afternoon to see the official opening.

Will any other members - or indeed guests - of the Coffee Shop also be there?

Likewise, I rather fancy having a pootle down to watch the opening but RS has a good question about inside or outside.  Perhaps the weather might dictate matters but I'm thinking that there would probably be more outdoor photo opportunities that are so prized by our local politicians.  Or there may be a lower key "press/media event" devoid of us plebs held earlier.

Official launch of the University's building is also 7th Sept, but I don't know what time.

I'll have a return ticket from Nailsea & Backwell, so I will be able to do either.  I'd suggest the ceremony will probably be outside, as the weather forecast is for 'bright and sunny', and there's more room outdoors for those attending, rather than trying to cram everyone inside into the concourse.

I shall be wearing a Coffee Shop badge for identification, just in case anyone here wants to approach me, and I will hopefully be in company with my esteemed admin colleague here, Red Squirrel.  For a squirrel, he is remarkably tall, when he stands up on his hind legs, so you can't miss him.

Well unless the strange quirks of life intervene, I intend to turn up outside there. 
For easy identification regarding other Coffee Shop members, I considered wearing my giant green chicken costume but I doubt it would be ready with the dry cleaners by then...oh well, jeans and polo shirt it is then.
