Here's another example, from The Post (Bristol):

All train routes through Bristol Temple Meads will be delayed by at least 20 minutes due to a signalling problem until further notice. (From 3.30pm)

Train operators CrossCountry and First Great Western services are affected by the signalling problem at Stapleton, according to National Rail.



Does anyone else recognise that picture?  It's been used before, and it has nothing to do with today's problem affecting Bristol Temple Meads.  Wink

That's the woman who decided to walk home from Bristol Parkway to Cheltenham using the most direct route - along the railway!

We've all heard the rumours, but here's proof that Boris really does want to take over more and more train services, including those to Lancaster - which appears to have had a makeover since my last visit there!

One of my earliest railway memories is on a rail trip with an uncle and aunt from Oldham Mumps (by steam) to Morecambe, via Lancaster. I don't remember a gherkin.

The return of an old favourite - from The Herald (Plymouth):

Either the Mount Hotel and the North Euston have had a makeover, and the Wyre has been widened, or the Gherkin has gone to Flootweed.

I agree it would be more helpful if the Herald gave the full story. Although I have to say I think the FGW▸ (First Great Western) website could have made more of it. It does appear in the timetable changes section but a message on the front page would do no harm.
