Meanwhile, over at The Independent, it appears that DB» (Deutsche Bahn - German State Railway - about) are returning to the UK (United Kingdom) sometime in the future to help with Northern Powerhouse Rail, and bringing some of their nice ICE3s with them - I hope they don't get stuck in the tunnels or under the bridges - see - https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/what-you-need-to-know-about-northern-powerhouse-rail-plans/ar-AA1Kv6fn?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=b3a5c89b91654ea5b980523d90235016&ei=85

To illustrate a story concerning an ECML (East Coast Main Line) broken rail the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) journalist concerned apparently thought an image of a Class 897 would be appropriate. These machines are not scheduled for entry into public service until 2027.

From Time Out

Quote

Watford has been feeling the impact of cuts to its bus services in recent years. Now, a group of locals say that the Hertfordshire town’s transport system needs expanding, and have started a petition asking the council to commit to reopening a long-disused train station.

Watford West was last used as a railway station in 1996, nearly 30 years ago. It continued as a bus stop until 2003, when it was shut completely. In the subsequent decades it became rusty and overgrown, then was cleared in preparation for the ultimately doomed Croxley Link.
